People still get stressed out by a number of factors that may rate from family to work-related. In, it is believed that the workforce is the category of individuals who get stressed out the most.

The factors that contribute to stress for the workforce include but are not limited to organisational climate, personal vulnerabilities, congruence between employees and work environment, characteristics of the job, societal culture and socialisation processes, perceptions and appraisal by the employees, statutory, medical, and legal processes, injury management and “return to work” practices, personal holidays, as well as human resource management practices.

There are several ways for employees to relieve stress inbut this post will highlight a few important ones.

    Take A Nap At Lunch

You may choose to spend your lunch break on one of the many different activities you believe to be effective as a de-stress for you.

Alternatively, you should consider taking a nap. If your lunch break is for an hour then taking a nap for 40 minutes and then getting something to eat with the remaining 20 minutes is a great idea. This is because a nap n matter how short, is extremely beneficial in reducing stress, especially for the workforce.

When you are less busy, or when you feel stressed by the project you are working on, you may take a walk outside or to the roof of your office building. To get the maximum benefit from this activity, it is recommended to take your mind off the task at hand and just focus on something refreshing.

It can be fun to be present and enjoy the sight of who are going about their normal day to day activities.

Some Light Exercise In The Office For A Few Minutes

Taking a few minutes at your table to carry out a light exercise is another amazing way for the workforce to relieve stress.

This exercise will not only reduce stress, it will also boost cognitive function and keep the body agile. Sitting in one spot for a long time might add to stress at work as well as fluid retention and uneven circulation of blood to the body.

If all organs of the body do not receive a sufficient flow of blood, the brain may become overburdened, and the subject may feel pain in the body and even lose concentration which is detrimental to your work. So, keep moving!

    Stay Hydrated

Take enough water to keep you hydrated throughout the day. It is believed that the level of stress may accelerate easily if a person is dehydrated.

You are expending a lot of energy as you work and taking sufficient water is the key to replenishing a substantial amount of that energy.

However, it is important to state that staying hydrated does not mean taking nicotine, caffeinated or alcoholic drinks. Drinks like alcohol and coffee do not hydrate the body, rather they function to increase stress and other related conditions. This is because they serve as depressant and stimulant for stress.

It is advised to minimize the consumption of this category of drinks or even avoid them altogether.

    Herbal Supplements For Stress Relief

Taking a supplement is another amazing way for the workforce to relieve stress. Herbal supplements are preferable and more effective in managing stress compared to pharmaceutical medications. The herb is also beneficial in maintaining a stable health condition after retirement. The possibility of developing neurodegenerative diseases and other age-related conditions are reduced to a minimum in people who take ashwagandha regularly.

Chronic stress encourages the body’s production of free radicals that may cause and hasten nerve damage thus leading to nerve-degenerating conditions like Huntington’s, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.

Ashwagandha is renown for it antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits which makes it the ideal herb for preventing nerve damage. The herb is also effective in repairing nerve cells and building synapses between nerves.
